A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18B-10-1d, relating to prorating additional tuition charges for students taking  higher education credit hours per term beyond a certain number.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended and reenacted by adding thereto a new section, designated §18B-10-1d, to read as follows;

ARTICLE 10.  FEES AND OTHER MONEYS COLLECTED.

§18B-10-1d.  Additional tuition charges for credit hours beyond full-time.


Subject to provisions in section one, article ten of this chapter, undergraduate students taking more than sixteen credit hours in a regular term may have their fees increased pro rata based on one twelfth of the full-time rate per credit hour, and graduate students taking more than twelve hours in a regular term may have their fees increased pro rata based on one ninth of the full-time rate per credit hour.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to authorize additional tuition charges for undergraduates taking more than sixteen credit hours per semester, and for graduate students taking more than twelve credit hours per semester.
